What is a good substitute for chocolate chips

Chopped chocolate bar will be a good substitute - chocolate syrup however, will make everything soggy and that is not what you are looking for I do not think -

I would use the chocolate bar and either break it up into small chunks or use a grater and grate the chocolate bar. Either way will work. Sounds yummy!

just grate a chocolate bar

Take the bar and cut it up into pieces. That will work only if the bar will make one cup. If not you do not have enough chocolate. The syrup wo not work.

yeah just break up the chocolate bar and they will be exactly like chocolate chips
if you want it super chocolate-y, add some chocolate syrup too :)
